President Bako Sahakyan awards medals of honor to executives of Hayastan All Armenian Fund affiliates

On May 8, the eve of the 17th anniversary of Shushi’s liberation, President Bako Sahakyan of Nagorno Karabakh signed an executive order granting medals of honor to the chairpersons of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund’s 15 worldwide affiliates. Also to be honored are Vahe Jazmadarian, chair of the fund’s Comptroller Committee, and Michel Tankrez, representative in Artsakh of the fund’s French affiliate. The medals of honors will be bestowed on the fund’s leaders in recognition of their instrumental role in the ongoing economic and infrastructure development of Artsakh.

The honorees as well as other representatives from various fund affiliates were in Artsakh for a four-day visit, beginning May 11. They attended the opening ceremonies of the water pipeline in Berdashen, a village in the Martuni Region; the renovated Hadrut Regional Hospital; and the region’s new gas pipeline – all projects financed by the Hayastan All Armenian Fund. The representatives also visited the sites of several fund projects including the schools of Togh (Hadrut Region) and Spitakashen (Martuni Region), Stepanakert’s No. 11 School, and they had an opportunity to see water pipelines in Hadrut and Spitakashen.

Hayastan All Armenian Fund affiliate chairpersons who received the Medal of Gratitude from President Sahakyan are: Ara Agishian (U.S. Western Region), Raffi Festekjian (U.S. Eastern Region), Bedros Terzian (France), Antranik Sirinyan
(Montreal), Gilbert Momdjian (Germany), Jorge Mirekian (Argentina), Sarkis Armenian (Lebanon), Armineh Carapeti (Great Britain), Avedis Kizirian (Switzerland),Beransch (Razmik) Hartunian-Tahmasians (Austria), Ochin Leon Mosditchian (Brazil),
Archbishop Aghan Baliozian (Australia), and Noebar Sepojan Sipaan (Netherlands).
President Sahakyan granted a special acknowledgement to Migirdic Migirdician, chair of the fund’s Toronto affiliate, who received the Vachagan the Pious medal for his longtime contribution to development projects in Artsakh.
