The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s 9th annual telethon was held in Los Angeles in November 2006. It raised a record-breaking USD13.7m, which is being used to implement the second stage of the Artsakh Rebirth project: the revitalizing of the Hadrout region of Nagorno Karabagh. This major project will improve socio-economic conditions in the region through the construction of a regional hospital, a number of schools, and new water and gas distribution networks. It will also assist in agricultural development. The Hadrout project is being implemented in parallel with a similar one in the Mardakert region.
The Board of Trustees will meet in May 2007 to decide the major project on which funds raised in the forthcoming 2007 Telethon will be spent on.
