Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is starting a cooperation with the Argentinean Government with emphasis on agricultural development. To see the prospects of applying the Argentinean positive and effective experience in Armenia, H.E. Mr. Gonzalo Urriolabeitia, Ambassador of Argentina to Armenia, visited Khachardzan community of Tavush Region. The Ambassador was familiarized with the Hayastan Fund’s projects, which were made possible with contribution of Argentinean Armenians. In the frames of the Fund’s increasingly popular greenhouse program, Ambassador Urriolabeitia took part in the lottery process, the winners of which became beneficiaries of another two greenhouses in Khachardzan. Thanks to the project, over 100 households in Tavush Region now benefit from their own greenhouses.

Kalciyans were the first Argentinean-Armenian family to support major development projects in Khachardzan. Through their generous contributions, the village now has a fully renovated school, a newly constructed medical clinic and an event hall. Inspired by Kalciyans’ charity, other Argentinean-Armenian families joined their initiatives. Avakians and Terzians jointly with Kalciyans, sponsored construction of drinking water network. Terzian family also sponsored construction of a sports complex, in memory of their daughter, Maria Terzian. With support of Sarkis and Tsovinar Anac the Park of Faith was built in the community. The jubilant opening of the mentioned infrastructures was made all the more memorable as 130 Khachardzan residents were baptized at the initiative of the visiting benefactors, who stood as godparents.
