Khachardzan community is located in Tavush region and includes Khachardzan and Geghatap villages. The population is around 480 people, who are mostly engaged in cattle breeding. The village is located on the right bank of Getik river. Most of the residents are Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan. The name of the community is derived from the cross stones preserved here. Historical monuments of the village include the chapel of Khachi Tap as well as a tomb field from 2nd -1st millennium B.C..


In 2013, within Hayastan All Armenian Fund rural development initiative, a new facility was constructed in Khachardzan village to tackle the issue of the health care point. The facility also included an events hall. The second project in the village saw the full reconstruction of the village school. Currently, Hayastan All Armenian Fund has launched the full reconstruction of the village water network.
Besides the Fund has began the construction of the sport-complex in Khachardzan village.
The land designated for the construction of sport-complex is located at the end of the open-air playground in the vicinity of the village school. The area has a slight incline. The building will be assembled with i/c monolithic coverings. The sport hall area covering will be done with roof timbers. The external walls are self supporting with 350mm thickness.
The sport-complex is going to be two-storey building, the hall part is one-storey with 6.0m high ceiling. The foyer, the sport-complex with the sport field (18.0 x 9.0m size), the sport equipment storage, the trainer room, the technical block with the separate entrance, the sanitary unit and the staircase are to be located on the first floor. The entresol, the boys and the girls’ locker rooms and the sanitary units with showers will be located on the second floor. The external doors will be made with aluminum, the internal ones and the windows will be made with metal-plastic. The hall covering is planned to be made with colored metal sheets.
The water drainage will be realized. For improvement of the engineering communications it’s planned to build a supporting wall with crushed stone, tiling and ramp.
