The 11th European Phoneathon will take place from November 18 to 21 in five French cities – Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, and Toulouse. During the four-day fundraising event around 600 volunteers from France, Germany and Switzerland will get together in France to call to 25000 Armenian families and organizations throughout Europe and ask for their support in the Hayastan Fund’s upcoming projects.
The fundraised amounts will be directed towards developing rural areas of Armenian Tavush region and Artsakh.
Last year’s phoneathon secured donations of around 1,200,000 euros from some 12,400 donors. With the raised funds the French affiliate has constructed a water delivery system in Sos village of Martuni region, Artsakh. The Artsakh’s Askeran region water project is in process.
With the phoneathon amounts the German and Switzerland affiliates have participating in the reconstruction of Noyemberyan hospital.

The statistics of the last several years shows that the average donation by the individuals makes 83, and by the organizations 201 Euros.

The major sponsor of the Phoneathon 2010 is Orange France Telecom, which has bean providing significant infrastructure and technical support to this principal fundraising event for years.
