"After the renovation of the school, also done by the Nalbandian family, we see significant changes in the quality of education we are able to provide to our children. What they have done for us is a beautiful example of dedication and patriotism,” said the executive director of Hayastan All Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan. In 2016, the benefactor family and other guests from Toronto participated in the opening ceremony of the fully reconstructed school (3200 square meters). The school consists of three blocks with 551 students currently attending. The school provides pre-school, secondary and special education classes. Within the Fund’s project, the educational center received new furniture and other necessary equipment. Besides, the Fund has built a new modern gym. This year, the beneficiary family also covered the university tuition fees for the ten graduates of the school. The benevolent work of the family extends beyond Nalbandyan village. Mr. and Mrs. Armen and Berjouhi Nalbandian have financed the construction of two houses for large families in Artsakh.
The village Nalbandyan bears the name of the prominent Armenian poet. It has 5400 residents – many of them descendants of refugees from Western Armenia.
