Diagnostics lab at Gyumri Children’s home orphanage will operate completely soon. Through the sponsorship of its Swiss affiliate, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has established the lab, complete with all required medical equipment and furniture. With the help of Swiss-Armenians, the orphanage had also a swimming pool. “Having an on-site lab makes it possible for us to perform most tests in-house. The works are carried out by our healthcare professionals, who have been trained to use the new equipment. The staff and children no longer have to deal with the logistical issue of medical transportation”, Anna Gevorgyan, the director of the orphanage says. The lab continues to be equipped with new devices.

Through the donation of the Fund's Argentinean-Armenian benefactors Devecyan, Ekserciyan and Simsiroghlu families, the laboratory has been provided with a modern ultrasound machine, which helps perform screenings at the facility, allowing for early detection and treatment of diseases. Argentinean-Armenian benefactors also donated a minibus. With the support of German-Armenians, two buildings of the orphanage have been renovated, replenishing with the new furniture and the playground has been also built.

Close to 130 children with physical or mental disabilities and under eight years of age, live and receive care at the Children's Home of Gyumri. For the past seven years, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has been supporting the orphanage making the care of children more efficient.
