On May 22, a delegation from the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, led by Executive Director Ara Vardanyan and comprising chairpersons and representatives of the Fund’s affiliates in 19 countries, visited the construction site of the future kindergarten of Ijevan, in Armenia. The kindergarten is the largest facility of its type ever built by the Fund in its 26-year history.
Designed for 150 students, the three-story campus is being constructed with the financial support of Armenia Fund benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Ani Hartoonian, Mr. Grisha Sookiasian, and Mrs. Sonik Artounian.
The new, state-of-the-art kindergarten is located near the old, dilapidated No. 8 Kindergarten. Now its students impatiently await the day they will be able to move to their new campus. The old kindergarten is in such grave disrepair that the Armenia Fund benefactors have decided to build a new kindergarten instead of trying to salvage the old one.
The new kindergarten will open its doors in 2019.
