HimnaTavush development foundation, which functions under the auspices of Hayastan All Armenian Fund, continues to foster agricultural growth in Tavush region. In 2017, the Fund carried out modernization and expansion works at cattle breeding farm and dairy factory in Lusadzor community. Solar thermal and photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof of the building, which is now supplying the facilities with hot water. An electric generator was also installed as an additional stabilizer for the electrical supply. The Fund continues to expand its renewable energy project, equipping Khashtarak village school, kindergarten, health care point and community center with solar panels. As mentioned before, 50 beneficiary families from the same village have access to solar powered hot water supply. The Fund plans to expand the list of beneficiary villages.
During 2017, the Fund provided select grain seeds to Barekamavan and Aygehovit villages, as well as about 8,000 seedlings (apple, pears, cornelian cherry, hazelnuts, figs and persimmon trees etc.) to eight villages.
Within the HimnaTavush initiative, the Fund has reconstructed the problematic 4.4km section of the Yenokavan-Kirants 23.5km road leading to the pastures of Kirants, Yenokavan, Lusadzor, Nerkin Tsaghkavan, Sarigyugh and Sevkar villages.
