Mr. and Mrs. Weidemann Support Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Projects
The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is pleased to announce that a reception was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Weidemann at the Embassy of Armenia in Germany on April 25, 2008. The reception was hosted by Her Excellency Ms.Karine Ghazinian, Ambassador to Armenia in Germany.
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Board of Trustees Meeting to Take Place
We are pleased to announce that the Hayastan All Armenian Fund Board of Trustees 17th Meeting is scheduled to take place on May 27 at the Government House of Receptions in Yerevan. The meeting will be opened and chaired by the newly elected President of the Republic of Armenia Serge Sargsyan. The President of Nagorno Karabakh Bako Sahakyan, Prime Ministers of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh Tigran Sargsyan and Araik Harutyunyan, Ministers Eduard Nalbandyan, Tigran Davtyan, appointed to their posts following the Funds board of trustees meeting in June 2007 will attend the Funds annual meeting as ex officio members of the board of trustees.
Armenia Fund Chair to be Awarded Ellis Island Medal of Honor
Los Angeles, CA Armenia Fund U.S. Western Region is proud to announce that its president/chairperson of the board, Maria Mehranian, has been awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations. Mehranian will be honored at a special ceremony at the Ellis Island in New York on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
Lovers Park Yerevan Landscaping and Design Project
Reconstruction work at Lovers Park (previously Pushkin Park) on Baghramian Avenue resumed on 15 March, 2008. The Lovers Park Yerevan Landscaping and Design Project started in 2005. The Project is sponsored by Boghossian Foundation (previously Robert Boghossian and Sons Fund) and implemented in collaboration with (Hayastan All Armenian Fund). This is not merely a reconstruction initiative; it is a renovation project which also insures the sustainable maintenance of the park. The garden will open to the public in September 2008.
Education: A Number of the Armenia Funds School Furnishing Projects Accomplished
The Armenia Fund accomplished several furnishing projects during the month of March including the Parakar Art school, school N10 in Abovian, Kotaik region, schools N 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 in Artik, Shirak region, secondary school in Kndzoresk, Siunik region and School N78 in Yerevan. All these projects have been initiated and financed through contributions from the Armenia Funds French Affiliate.
