Glendale telethon to fund Armenian highway
GLENDALE -- Rush-hour traffic on the freeway, blaring horns, rude drivers -- those are the stuff of dreams for people in Armenia, who have 52 miles remaining to complete a major north-south "backbone" highway in the country.
To that end, Armenians living outside that country are gearing up for the Armenia Fund's 12-hour telethon on Thursday.

Meeting with Armenian businessmen
On November 25, the NKR President Mr. Arkadi Ghoukasian and the Executive Director of the Hayastan Fund Mrs. Naira Melkoumian had a meeting with Armenian businessmen in Congress hotel, Yerevan.

One more section opened
On November 9, one more section of the North-South highway, treated as the backbone of Artsakh, was inaugurated. It was the Saroushen-Karmir-Shouka 14 km long section.

Naira Melkoumian: Let's pass together our victorous paths
On November 25, "Hayastan" Pan-Armenian Fund will hold a TV marathon in Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora. The sums accumulated through the marathon will be assigned for the construction of "North-South" road that is considered a key one in Artsakh. During the recent 4 years 57,2 km of the road has been constructed, while $12,5 million are needed for the construction of the 31,5 km left. We talked with Naira Melkumian, executive director, about the envisaged TV marathon and the issues connected with the Funds activities.
