French-Armenian Public Figure, Father Sarkis Tchoulfian DiedHayastan All-Armenian Fund informs with sorrow that on April 25 2009, in the city of Chasse-Sur-Rhone of France died the spiritual leader of the local Armenian community and one of the devoted persons of the Fund’s French affiliate Father Sarkis Tchoulfian at the age of 79.
On this sad occasion, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has addressed condolences to Tchoulfian’s widow and his relatives, to the Mayor of Chasse-Sur-Rhone and the Armenian community of France.
“We address our reverence and respects to Sarkis, an exclusive person who we have had an honor to know well. His memory will remain bright in our hearts. I am certain that henceforth we shall become more consolidated to continue the affair to which Sarkis has dedicated his life. He is in each place where his name is heard”, says Bedros Terzian, Chairman of French affiliate.
During the last days of his life, Sarkis Tchoulfian was engaged in the preparations for the opening ceremony of the khachkar in Chasse-Sur-Rhone dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Alas, he couldn’t take part in the event.
The name of the Armenian devotee, being from Nor Hachn by his roots, will be crowned with immortality on the plaque of the Nor Hachn school.
